Sustainability

Our work on becoming a more sustainable and eco-friendly school continues at pace under the leadership of Ms. Wiles, and we are pleased to announce that the school has been awarded a Local Schools Nature grant. This grant provides the school with additional CPD for staff on being eco-friendly and sustainable in our approach, along with funds to help develop the school site. We will keep you updated with the work the Eco team is doing and how the grant will contribute to developing Rushden Academy into a more sustainable organisation.

Anti-Bullying

As a school, we are excited to share that we have been recognised by the Anti-Bullying Quality Mark for our work on supporting students and how we engage with families and the local community. We initially set out to achieve the Bronze Award for this accreditation, but the assessor felt that the work we have done warranted the Silver accreditation.

Our thanks go to Mr. A. Smith for his hard work on this project. The feedback received from the assessor highlights the excellent work the team has done:

"Rushden Academy achieved the ABQM-UK Silver Award because staff, students, parents, and carers demonstrated that strategic policies and practices for preventing bullying have been embedded in the school community. Students have played a significant role in the continued development of inclusion and belonging through their support for other students and their promotion of anti-bullying in the community."

Dance Showcase

We want to congratulate all students who participated in the dance showcase on Wednesday evening. It was great to see so many talented students taking part across all year groups. We would like to thank all families for their continued support; it was amazing for the students to perform to a packed audience.

SEND Co-ordinator

We are pleased to announce that Mrs. H. James is now our SEND Coordinator. I know that many of you have already met Mrs. James through her work with the Performing Arts faculty and as a previous Head of Year. I am sure you will join me in congratulating her on securing this role. Mrs. Leech is still working in school and will be supporting Mrs. James as part of the transition.

Ethos Session

Finally, our Ethos team is running a session for parents next Thursday, from 1:15pm until 2:45pm. This is a perfect opportunity to have a coffee, some cake, meet other parents, and do some crafts.

Please arrive at the school reception and our Family Support Worker, Jenni King, will meet you there. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to email Jenni at .

We hope you all enjoy the bank holiday weekend and we look forward to seeing all students back in school on Tuesday!

Yours sincerely,

Mr. J. Firth

Principal
