Dear Families,
We hope you have all had a lovely week! Students are now settled into their new routines, and we are extremely impressed with how swiftly they have adapted to the new site layout. The mixed weather this week highlighted a few path adjustments needed to improve access to the village classrooms. We will be working with Portakabin next week to lay additional wood chippings, expanding and improving the pathways for everyone.
UK Music Sound Foundation Grant
A big thank you to Mrs Squires for her successful funding bid! She has secured £758 for new keyboards in the music department. This will further enrich our curriculum, supporting students across Key Stage 3 with their performing and composing projects.
Safe and Well Checks
Safe and well checks have resumed this term. These friendly home visits are designed to support your child and family whenever barriers arise that prevent regular attendance. Staff will visit homes in pairs for a quick catch-up to discuss any concerns, helping us offer the right support at the right time so your child can return to school as smoothly as possible.
Forest School Launch
We are excited to introduce Forest School opportunities this year! Mrs Nixon is finishing her Forest School qualification, and we look forward to launching the project soon. The first group of students has already been invited, and we will expand participation as the initiative grows. You might wonder where our forest is: we are thrilled to share that we will be planting thousands of trees at the far end of the school field to establish our very own woodland area over time.
Duke of Edinburgh (DofE)
Several students completed their Bronze DofE expedition this week, a fantastic opportunity to build skills, independence, and friendships, and we would like to extend a huge thank you to our dedicated staff who organised and led the trip.
Looking ahead, Year 9 families are invited to a DofE presentation on Thursday, 17th September, from 6:00pm to 7:00pm in the Lecture Theatre to find out more about how students can get involved, and we hope the expedition team gets plenty of rest this weekend!
We wish you all a wonderful weekend and look forward to seeing students at 8:25am on Monday, ready for line-up.
Yours sincerely,
Mr. J. Firth
Principal
