Message From the Principal 24.04.2026

Dear Families,

This week we have continued our celebrations for the 10th anniversary of the Tove Learning Trust. Students and staff have participated in a variety of high-energy events, including:

  • Bake Sale
  • Teacher vs. Students sports
  • Bingo
  • Soak the Teacher
  • Colour Run

It has been fantastic to see such high levels of engagement from everyone while raising money for our student-nominated charities. We will tally the donations and announce the total amount raised early next week.

STEM Day

On Friday, Year 8 students participated in a STEM Day. The challenge was to design and construct a lander capable of surviving a 30-foot drop using a variety of materials. We look forward to sharing photos of the students’ impressive engineering work soon.

National Theatre Connections

On Friday, I had the pleasure of joining our students at the Royal and Derngate Theatre to watch our Year 12 performance of Macbeth, Macbeth, Macbeth, Macbeth, Macbeth as part of the National Theatre Connections Festival. Once again, our Year 12 students delivered an exceptional performance. It was a wonderful experience for those in the audience to witness live theatre of such a high standard. We are incredibly proud of them all!

Social Action Squad

Our Social Action Squad (SAS) continues to do amazing work within the community. On Thursday, students supported our local charity, SERVE, with a gardening project in Wellingborough. Well done to all students involved for your continued commitment to these vital community projects.

Progress Evenings

We hope Year 8 families found Thursday’s Progress Evening a valuable opportunity to discuss student progress and next steps.

Looking ahead, we have two upcoming evenings for Year 7. To ensure parents have a better chance of securing appointments with staff who teach multiple groups, we are splitting the year group into two bands:

  • B Band Progress Evening: 7th May
  • A Band Progress Evening: 14th May

Please keep an eye on MCAS to book your appointments and check the platform to confirm which evening you are scheduled to attend.

Year 11 Exams

A huge well done to the students who have already begun their exam season. We have seen exceptional work produced during the practical Food exams and some truly stunning pieces in Photography.

The schedule intensifies next week with exams taking place in Graphics, Art, Drama, Dance, IT, and Languages. We recognise that individuals respond differently to the pressure of exams; if you are concerned about your child or feel they need extra support during this window, please do not hesitate to get in touch with the team.

We hope you all have a wonderful weekend and look forward to seeing all students on Monday.

Yours sincerely,

J. Firth

Principal
