What is Pupil Premium?

The pupil premium is additional funding for schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils to close the gap between them and their peers and to support children and young people with parents in the regular armed forces.

It is up to us to schools to decide how the Pupil Premium is spent. However, they are accountable for their use of this funding.

Schools have to publish online information about their pupil premium allocation and how they plan to spend it in the coming year. They must also publish a statement of how they spent the money for the previous year and its impact on its pupils eligible for support through the Pupil Premium.

Year 7 Catch Up Funding 2016 - 2017

Estimated funding £21,000

Plan for use of funding

£17,000 has been used to create an additional Curriculum Access Room, particularly for year 7 catch up. The money has been used to buy laptops and other resources to support the students.

All students with a low reading age below have been targeted. They are provided with 2x 20 minutes 1 -1 Reading catch up a week with a TA. This is in addition to other reading programs that all students experience.

All students who gained a KS2 mathematics score of 95 or less have also been targeted and are again provided with 2 x 20 minutes of 1 -1 mathematics tuition each week.

Baseline tests have been taken and progress is assessed at the end of each half term.

£4,000 has been used on resources to develop social and emotional support to individuals that require it. Impact will be shown by case study.
